Ages: 3 to 6 years old
Working with traditional Montessori materials, primary students develop foundational skills in math, science, reading, and writing. Uninterrupted work cycles foster self-discipline and the ability to concentrate. Practical life work including snack preparation, cleaning, and plant care are still fundamental components in this classroom. Primary teachers observe each individual students learnings and guide them on their developmental path. The younger children are naturally mentored by their older peers (kindergarteners). The older peers naturally become the leaders and mentors to their younger peers. Love of learning, a sense of responsibility, and respect for community are captured in the primary years, poising a child for the next step in their journey into the Montessori Elementary Program.
